Tom Cromwell Washington Kayak Club notice: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Slide Show Date: Dec. 4th, Friday, 6:30 PM at the Washington Kayak Club Meeting November/December General Meeting A Sea Kayak Adventure: Sitka to Craig Friday, December 4, 1998, 6:30 p.m. Seattle REI Store Auditorium 222 Yale Avenue North In July, Tom Cromwell (TomCkayak_at_aol.com), George Gronseth and Tom Linder paddled south from Sitka down the outside of Baranoff Island to Cape Ommaney and then made the 14 km crossing of Chatham Strait to the tip of Kuiu Island. >From there they crossed Sumner Strait and worked their way down Prince of Wales Island to Craig. The paddling was largely on the outside along a rugged, remote coastline interrupted by deep inlets. The camping covered the spectrum, varying from big, sunny beaches to obscure rock shelves. Show is presented by Tom Linder, but all three contributed photos and will be at the show. Directions: REI'S flagship store in downtown Seattle will be hosting WKC general meetings for the future. Meetings will begin at 6:30 p.m. the fourth Friday of each month unless otherwise posted. Directions to Seattle REI: >From the South: Take I-5 to the Olive Way exit.
