So Steve's wife surprised him with a VHF radio, mine surprised me with a GPS! She had gotten me a VHF radio but returned it last week in exchange for the GPS after seeing my brand new radio in my den and asking "what's that?" She knew that I still didn't have a GPS, so she got me a Garmin GPS III. I was pretty sold on the Garmin 12 (not XL). The GPS III seems like a really nice unit, more features than I need though. And, the buttons seem smaller--thus harder to use--than on the 12. Anyone have some feedback/words of wisdom regarding the Garmin 12 vs the Garmin GPS III vs the Garmin 12 XL? Appreciate the insight. I believe the battert life on the III is less then the 24 hours on the 12XL. In addition, the BNC connector is probably more prone to corrosion then the stainless (MMX?) connector on the 12s. cya. *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.gasp-seakayak.net/paddlewise/ ***************************************************************************
