I wear a layer of light poly pro and a layer of patagonia winter weight long underwear. On my feet I have a single layer of fleece socks with a pair of gortex socks over the fleece. I tuck the gortex socks under the latex gasket. I have worn this outfit on Lake Superior in late May with water temperatures in the 40's (F) and air temperatures in the 50-60 F range. It was a bit warm for hard paddling, and a bit cool when I deliberately went swimming to test the seals and temperature conditons. The water was cool enough that when I started to feel over heated while paddling I could cool off quickly by simply sticking my bare hands in the water for a few minutes.
