Who will do the certifying, I wonder. Will they certify the way Doug Van Doren teaches the forward stroke or the way George Gronseth teaches it? Would John Peterson be allowed to use a sliding stroke? Would Maligiaq Padilla pass a certification exam? Right now, I don't think there is a consensus on what constitutes good Greenland style, just a lot of well-meaning, sometimes very knowledgable, amateurs (in the old sense of the word) who are familiar with different parts of the elephant (or maybe the walrus in this case). I visited the ANorAK website and I liked what they have to offer. I will be subscribing to the magazine and buying the video of the Delmarva Paddlers Retreat. Also of interest in regards to Greenland technique; the ACA will soon be certifying their instructors in Greenland Style Paddling. Thanks again, Richard M. *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.gasp-seakayak.net/paddlewise/ ***************************************************************************
