[Paddlewise] Paddle Float

 I'am storing and have use of a commercial boat canvas sewing machine
and lots of marine canvas (Sunbrella etc.). 
Does anyone have any ideas how a good paddle float is designed. I have a
inflatable one, but I would like to make a solid one that is quick on
and off. What type of foam, what dimensions, and paddle attachment.
