Read Brother John's post & Ralph's response. The 'D' ring thing is what I use on my Santana VHF from West Marine (the radio is a Uniden knock-off). Keeps the thing close and operable as I have yet to see it become dysfunctional having been soaked in salt and fresh water. Bought a waterproof bag but it's hard to channel tune the beasty after the initial call cause my old eyes can't always see the wee little LCD screen! The 'goin' south' thing however sounds awfully good right now with all the ice on Lake Michigan - Hey, John! Meet you at Milwaukee's Mitchell Field in about 30 minutes! Ralph, ya got a couple of boats for two frozen souls? Well come south just to the point at which we bring out the dry suits and someone says, "What's that thing!". D. A.
