Someone suggested that they need more leg strength. A normally fit person has enough leg strength. Similar for arm strength. Their problem sounds like they're just not fit or are too fat. -------------- When I was at the Atlantic Coast Sea Kayak Symposium I met a lady with an interesting occupation and outlook. She was a physical therapist of some sort and worked in Portsmouth, NH (I believe). She was giving lectures & demonstrations at the symposium on teaching techniques to get handicapped individuals out in sea kayaks. I believe this was with people paralyzed from the waist down and those with other afflictions. I don't imagine they were out in anything lumpy and special safety measures have probably been developed. Her classes were well attended. I'll bet the one legged and no legged skiers, the paralayzed marathoners and triathletes and those in other sports are glad no one forbade them from participating. Didn't I hear of a guy with paralyzed legs being a ww rodeo kayaker? You don't have to be a maniac pushing Xtreme limits and putting yourself in danger to enjoy a sport. *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.gasp-seakayak.net/paddlewise/ ***************************************************************************Received on Wed Jan 27 1999 - 10:05:23 PST
