Nick commented: I've got a boat with valley canoe products hatches on a skerray. Generally these seal very well. However i get leaks to varying degrees at various times, and more so than other skerray owners I have encountered. Nick, et al: The importer here in Victoria, who has been bringing in VCP products for 25 years, suggests just using the silicon treatment. You may also wish to find a VCP dealer with a round or oval hatch cover pressure tester, depending which compartment you want to test and which of those two hatches is being used. The tester hatch cover uses a valve, into which you pump air. By brushing on a soapy mix of water, bubbles appear dramatically where ever air is leaking. I have over 40 holes drilled for fixtures, bolts, etc, and this was the only way to find the leaks and/or leaky hatch spots. *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.gasp-seakayak.net/paddlewise/ ***************************************************************************
