	Hi All!
Can anyone recommend a book or other resource which will provide "how to"
information for fabricating composite canoes? In particular, I am
interested in information on the construction of the female mold, fabric
and resin selection considerations, and for using vacuum bagging techniques
to increase lamination strength.
I recently purchased a book titled "Building Your Kevlar Canoe" by James
Moran, which covers the steps necessary to create a male plug, and then
presents a technique to build a canoe "inside-out" by laying up fabric on
the outside of the plug, but stops well short of providing enough
information to proceed beyond this point. If I am going to go to the
trouble and expense of undertaking this sort of project, I would like to be
able to produce a canoe with a professional finish to include a gel-coat
and integral hull stiffening. Any comments and information would be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks in advance! Steve J.
PS
Does anyone by chance have experience with any of the designs provided in
Mr. Morans book, or can you recommend alternatives? I am interested in solo
and tandem tripping boats as starting points.
TIA again! S.
