The fact that it stays bright for 50 hours is terrific. It is hard to tell from the photo but it looks like the light is more than just a straight-ahead flashlight and is also somewhat bright from the sides of the lens. If so, it would make a good night light for visibility probably better than the C light from ACR, but I don't know that. ralph diaz -- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Ralph Diaz . . . I've been doing some research on LEDs and will try to convert a clight to a bright LED. I'm also going to make an LED "bulb" that I can drop into my headlamp. I'll let you know if it's successful. The white LED is the coming replacement for flashlights. cya > -----Original Message----- > From: owner-paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net > [mailto:owner-paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net]On Behalf Of > rdiaz_at_ix.netcom.com > Sent: Friday, January 15, 1999 12:25 PM > To: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net > Subject: Re: [Paddlewise] Led Flashlight > > > Robert C. >To what depth do you plan to pitchpole, Robert? > >Jack Actually, I carry a couple of lights with me. One in the deck bag, another in my PFD... and when I'm scuba diving, they serve as my night lights. However, if ever I pitchpol again, I hope it's in deep water... that stuff where the bow digs into the sand is SCARY! *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.gasp-seakayak.net/paddlewise/ ***************************************************************************
