Do they run before the > shells or after?? I think you might be confused. The head of the charles is rowing, and is in the fall, the run of the charles is paddle craft and in the spring. To the best of my knowledge there's never been a rowing class. I believe the only kayak classes are in the 6 and 19 mile races. I've probably run that race at least 15 times - 24 mile relay, 19 mile in solo or tandem canoes, 9 mile, 6 mile, war canoe. I have no idea what class, or distance I'll do this year. I got major grief the year I organized a relay team on my wife's due date.
