I've had some trouble I think with my subscription to paddlewise - i don't
know if my postings have reached the list or not. Forgive me if this , and
a couple of others I'll post now, has been posted before.

I started off with water ski rope into which was threaded very heavy shock
cord. the rope had floats on each end. Very strong, lots of give and it
floated, but very bulky. In New SOuth wales these days one popular design
uses cord for venetian blinds. It is stetchy and very strong. We make small
bulk tow lines by sewing a bag using rip stop nylon into which the line is
placed, with a small slit on the bag through which the rope (about 15 m)
goes. One end is clipped to your boat, one to the boat being towed (with
small stainless steel, sprung clips. The bag is sealed with velcro and the
end to be fixed to the towed boat is held in place with a small velcro tab.
It's a very small package, and has been in use for about three years now,
with no problems yet.
