I have been on the list for just about a year, and purchased my first
kayak last May, a double Klepper.  I subscribe to Ralph Diaz newsletter
and have basically been enjoying myself paddling in protected waters
learning how to paddle longer and longer distances with both myself and
my wife.  Based on other postings I seem to be about the right age at 48
for this activity and like most of you have been involved in outdoor
activities most of my life.  I live in San Jose, Ca. and since I am new
to kayaking have most enjoyed the threads involving equipment.
