I think it could be a three day trip -- It is a 18nmi paddle from
Washington Park to Sucia. Certainly doable in one day, except that the
flood currents in may/june do not start up until about noon. However, the
flood current gives about a 3 knot boost in the middle of Rosario
Strait. So it is probably feasible to make it there in one day even
with a late start. And there are some great playspots along the way!
Strawberry Island rip is the proving ground for George Gronseths students,
and the Peapods are supposed to be like a class three river, and
the Lawrence point rip is also fun.  There is a multitude of smaller
rips between LP and Sucia.  The second day could be spent playing
at boiling reef, and camping on Cabbage Island near Tumbo Island. The
Third would probably best be spent traveling to Sidney, perhaps by a
comination paddle and ferry ride. Of course, a fourth day would add lots
of extra options. I wonder how many paddlewisers would be willing to take
four days off work?

The Deception Pass idea is pretty good, since it would allow for many more
Paddlewisers to meet.  I would really like to meet everyone face to 
face. Maybe the thing to do is organize a Paddlewise
rendezvous at Bowman Bay sometime this spring. Who would be intersted in
attending this? Organizing it?
