Sounds like the Merlin could be *just* the boat for you! I really like it <XT> as well as the Merlin LT, and the Eddyline Falcon series. These boats are quite efficient <size wize>, speedy, reasonably stable <more so on the Merlins> and most of all *wind* balanced. When you start learning about pivot points, Weather <and Lee> cocking, hull forms, rudders, skegs <internally designed and retractable> and the like you will discover the togetherness <is this a word? <G> of the afore-mentioned boats. I realize there are lots of *together* craft out there this is just MNSHO of a design. YMMV.
