I just walked out to my shed with flashlight in hand to measure my backband height and took one hell of a fall....much ice. I x-c skied a couple hours today and didn't come close to that full body layout... I am ok. My boat has a 6 1/4 inch height from seat to centerline of backband. I use my legs/ backband in my paddle stroke and find that this height is effective and comfortable. I am 6 foot tall.
