I am responding to Bill Hansen's post. After using all of the GPS units on the market over the last few years I would say the Garmin units are the best. While crossing Lake Michigan my Magellan became non-functional just due to the humidity. Irregardless of the unit you buy you should protect it with a drybox or some bag system. After the warrenty expires I found that Eagle would only fix one of their GPS units if you had the reciept, otherwise the said that they could not help you. Garmin fixed their unit for a standard fee of $8.00 after the warrenty expired. Their fee applied if someting small was damaged like an internal lithium battery to keep the memory safe or if they had to replace the entire system. Garmin did not even ask for proof of purchase.
