A half-thumb down on DefenderUS. DefenderUS, from which I bought it, dragged its feet some on this and that is why I went directly to Raytheon. DefenderUS was hitting me with "we don't accept returns on ----------- Over in rec.boats.cruising, I think the feeling is/was that DefenderUS can offer the prices they do because they cut back on certain service areas including stiffer return policies. I typically do my product research elsewhere, but go back to DefenderUS for the price. I haven't had any problems with them yet but the Garmin 12XL is the only electronic product I've gotten from them. Most of the other things I've gotten from them is stuff like BBA Chart Kits, etc which don't break. ----------- I have since purchased the Standard 350, which I had admired all along ----------- Thanx for the great writeup.
