[Paddlewise] Objects of desire

With all of this talk of SOTs and SINKs, never mind the BUK's ,SUKs and FUKs
(sorry Ralph couldn't resist it;-} ) it occurred to me that I desire, and to
a certain extent paddle boats not just because of their functional merits
but because of their aesthetics. As the venerable Winters puts it so
eloquently "There is no reason for a slow boat ... and no excuse for an ugly
one."

.... There is no excuse for an ugly boat. Beauty is as they say, in the eye
of the beholder. Thanks to the phenomena that is PaddleWise I'm now
empowered with the knowledge that there are incontinent, blind, roll
challenged paddlers out there who prefer to scuttle around perched on top of
fat surf boards :-)

Seriously though, if I lived in a Mediterranean climate (Ha ... global
warming you say?) then I might have a look at a surf ski, but I'd be
surprised if my aesthetically perfect boat would change .... its been around
for a while .... lovely lines .... fine, upswept bow and stern ... peferable
with ocean cockpit .... usually unspoilt by rudder or other extraneous
appendages .... definitely without sponsons .....18' long ....21" wide ...
guessed it yet?

Radon mixed with Potassium, very quietly. (8 letters)
