The bungies under my deck are newly installed, so I've only been in the boat in pool conditions since they were put in (It's winter in NY, so we're still a couple of weeks away from real paddling). But I did wet exit and re-enter, and had no problem with the bungies - or with the pump that I had stored in the bungies. However, the paddle float floated out of the bungies, so they won't do for storing it.
