As I mentioned in my "Who we are" post, I would like to do a trip this year
where I can see whales from a kayak. This is apt to be a secondary vacation
for me this year, so it needs to be, somewhat, low budget. That limits it
pretty much to the northeast coast of the US and, maybe, Canada. So, Where,
With who, and When? Anyone have advice? (West coast advice is welcome as
well, but it is not too likely that I'll manage that this year. But you
never know.)

Thanks,
Milo

I have two suggestions to see whales in the NE. One is in Mass. There is an
outfitter called Adventure Learning that will transport you and a kayak to
either Jeffries or Stelllwagen Banks off Mass and let you paddle around with the
big boys for 3 or so hours. We did it a few years ago and it was worth the $ I
have also heard stories of the whales getting close to Provincetown off Cape Cod
but that is chancy.
The other "sure thing" is to drive up to Quebec and either paddle in the
Saquenay River, or in one of the bays near Tadoussac and see belugas, minke,
fin, etc etc. Its well worth the trip!
Have fun
