I saw this over at rec.boats.paddle and thought it might amuse you all:

Perhaps people who complain that folding kayaks are slow might try
taking them out of their bags.

Reminds me...

One time in Edmonds, WA. near the Ferry dock, I put in for a sole paddle. I
quickly pushed of the beach to beat an in bond ferry. Paddling vary hard with
what should have been ample lead time I barley pasted the ferry dock in front
of the ferry! I paddled north for a mile wondering what was wrong. A fine wake
was streaming out behind the kayak. I landed the first chance I could. A
middle aged women walked up to me before I was out of the boat and asked if
all Sea kayaks had rear wheels. I looked and a set of Washburn wheels were
still strapped beneath the stern. I told her that only a few models do.
