Cleaning out my mailbox, I see that I sent this to Barbara by mistake. Meant ot send ot the group - sorry about that Barbara. This goes back to the thread about pumping out a boat with a hand pump. I haven't found any way which works well for me, with the sprayskirt on. Someone (I thinkit was Barbara) observed that putting the tube of the pump down the sprayskirt works well. I've read about that way of doing it, but it doesn't work for me. My original note, shortened a bit: **************************************** I haven't been very happy with the technique of pumping out a boat by placing the tube of a hand pump down the tube of my sprayskirt. I need to hold the pump tube down either with my thighs, in which case I can't brace with my knees, or with my non-pumping hand, which keeps me from using the paddle for a brace. Also, the pump only goes down as far as the kayak's seat, so a lot of water remains in the boat. Clearly, I must be doing this wrong.
