Speaking up to increase the tally of women on the list, my name is Debbie Reeves and I am relatively new to paddling [canoes & kayaks], starting in 1995. But when the bug bit, it bit hard. I don't know that I've gotten out of the boat much since then. I just turned 40, live in NJ, paddle and camp year round and always look forward to paddling in new places. I took my first BCU course last year (3 Star) and got a good dose of how much I didn't know. I realize that I totally missed the rush of enthusiasm for this thread; my delay in getting this out has been due to knee surgery. Hopefully, I will be paddling before too long. Either that, or I will be a flaming bitch!
