I am looking for a new boat and would like to get some suggestions from the list members. Uh oh. :-) I am looking for something I can live in and with for awhile for moderately extended trips, a few days to a month at a time. I prefer boats that are long and narrow but since I am a small person I may have to modify the cockpit for my dimensions (5'1", 105, 28" inseam). I must have a nice flat space to the rear of the cockpit for me to set up my dog Happy for a comfortable ride, room in the cockpit to put her inside when it's cold (which given my short legs isn't usually a problem). I want a Kevlar boat this time around since I am usually loading and unloading myself. I want something fast with moderate maneuverability. I am not particular on which but would like either a skeg or rudder to even out the dog leans. :-) I have information on the Seaward Quest and Endeavor but am sorta leaning away from the Endeavor because of the placement of the center bulkhead which would interfere with Happy's comfort. I've looked at and paddled a couple of Necky's but it's been awhile and I forgot the model I liked so much (long, narrow, big people complaining about it being tippy but I didn't find that to be the case at all). I've looked into Northwest Kayaks and am wondering about the Discover. What about Eddyline's Falcon 18, though I wonder if that hatch design makes it difficult to get things in and out? What other boats should I be considering? As usual, TIA.
