Here's a quick "heads up!" for those of you who paddle the Santa Barbara Channel area. The first meeting of the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary Advisory Council will be held this Thursday, February 25 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. For details, see: http://www.cinms.nos.noaa.gov/sacpr12-8.html The meeting is open to the public, though it would seem that the time chosen is not very convenient for most people to attend. As a first meeting, it may be a good opportunity to hear a summary of current and future programs managed by NOAA. It seems they will be presenting a summary of their efforts between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon.
