I'm curious if those who install under-deck bungees, etc have ever done a
paddle float entry or re-enter and roll under ocean conditions? The first
time I tried after installing the bungees, my feet became entangled and I
removed them. I now install pump clips under the deck for a pump and keep
the area clear.

The clue is to make them very short and tight to the underside of the deck.

Never had an entanglement problem, though, of course, the risk is not zero.

Neat trick, Bob. :-) Maybe that's what I can do with my bad knees.

The bungies under my deck are newly installed, so I've only been in the
boat in pool conditions since they were put in (It's winter in NY, so
we're still a couple of weeks away from real paddling). But I did wet
exit and re-enter, and had no problem with the bungies - or with the pump
that I had stored in the bungies. However, the paddle float floated out
of the bungies, so they won't do for storing it.

Murphy's Law states that if it's possible to get entangled in your
under-deck bungees, you will!
