I have been reading this thread and thought I should get in on this too. I have been paddling most of my life and I am now 42. Like most kayakers I started out as a whitewater paddler and got involved with some slalom racing in the province before loosing interest and found sea kayaking. I publish and design kayaking maps for sea kayaking along the coast of British Columbia. I have paddled most places along the coast of Vancouver Island and parts of the mainland. During the last seven years I have lectured at the West Coast Sea Kayak Symposium in Port Townsend Washington on paddling with children. I hope everyone finds this information useful.
