Hi All! Here's a little tidbit for your consideration. Last year, M'lady and I purchased a lovely Navarro (flatwater family boat!) canoe from REI. Had to sign a disclaimer form before we could leave the store with it. OK, fine. So howcum I can go to the same store and buy a new climbing rope, shoes, and assorted hardware and no one blinks an eye? D'you suppose that means that REI's lawyers consider a canoe to be potentially more dangerous in inexperienced hands than rock gear? Hmmmm. Inquiring minds, and all of that . . .
