My answer to the expensive Sweet Roll system is a homemade Hully slider. I made a v shaped saddle from 1x4's and plywood. The plywood is about 12" x 16" and is v shaped to the shape of my most used boat. The plywood is covered with foam and carpet The saddle is attached to my Yakima rack on the rear bar. I lift the bow onto the saddle as you would with the Hully Roller. I then lift the stern and slide the boat along the carpeted saddle and drop it into the forward TLC saddle. With straps over the boat and around the bar the boat cant move out of the v and is well supported with a 12x 16 saddle. The carpet does not scratch my Pygmy's wooden hull-----Total cost $3.00 Larry C. *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.gasp-seakayak.net/paddlewise/ ***************************************************************************Received on Thu Mar 11 1999 - 15:44:25 PST
