Robert, I bought the chota knee highs that don't have a sole. You wear you teva sandals over them. They work great and with the buckles strap at the top of the boot they don't leak even when I wade in water higher than the top. I looked at the one with the sole but thought the sole was too thin and reminded me of other neoprene booties. I am glad I purchased the knee high socks instead and along with the usage of my sandals I can have good gripping power over rocks and in the water. I hope that helps. They have soles but no ankle strap. Thus, should they fill with water, it's like wearing a pair of water filled balloons on your feet. Rather than drill holes to drain the water, is there a way to secure an ankle strap to the boots to prevent them from taking on so much water?
