The Kit is just the cable and software for managing uploads. I assume when --------- I thought the GPS was passive and the package with the waypoints did the uploading/downloading? What does the Garmin software do, upload/download text files or something? If so, do I really need it? Just the cable is only half as much. West Marine has a picture of the kit and shows a 1.44 diskette which obviously goes into the PC. you say the Canadian CD will upload, you mean waypoints only, no graphics. The III+ will actually load graphics. --------- I don't have the package yet so I don't know what it can do yet.
