Bob... No, I didn't make a marine contact. I made a normal repeater contact on my Yaesu FT-50R. I mentioned that it took me all of a year in recovery to get it together enough to make my radio to work enough to make a simple 2meter contact. I want to be active in field day this year and was trying to think of ways to incorporate kayaks into it and wondered what others would suggest... I remember much but certainly a lot is still missing from memory... Frankly I would rather pack my 2m/440 rig than a marine radio now that I have an idea of the coverage for 2meters up here in the Seattle area. I'd rather not go off half-cocked when making that decision however, and it is reassuring to note that I am not the only paddler who sees it as a possibility. >There are a number of hams on the list. And that was another reason for my post-I had lost some of my messages from a ham on the list and also wondered about other hams here. This was an attempt to contact him/and those others... Oh yea, my license is dated 09/16/94... 73 Tom...
