I read something that confused me several months ago on this site. The poster said that a drogue is deployed off the stern with the stern into the wind ; whereas, the Driftstopper is deployed off the bow with the bow into the wind. I understand why the Driftstopper works the way it does; but, why can't the drogue be launched from the bow also? I imagine that it could be attached to a loop of rope that runs between the bow and the cockpit area. I'm sure you would not want to have the point of attachment near the cockpit no matter from which end of the boat the drogue was deployed. Jake BTW, I've followed the postings here for about 9 months. The civility here is wonderful. Thank You. *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.gasp-seakayak.net/paddlewise/ ***************************************************************************

You're right, everyone here is the epitome of civility by comparison. -- Wes *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.gasp-seakayak.net/paddlewise/ ***************************************************************************
