This is a response to the post from Sylvia Jacobs.
Sylvia, The sea anchor made by Boulter of Earth is
called a sea anchor. It is made to reduce your drift as
much as possible "anchoring you in place". When stopped
in place I like to see the waves coming my direction so
that I can react or prepare for them.
Sea Drogues are made to reduce a vessels speed. This can
help keep a boat from yawing. With a drogue in use the
boat is still traveling so it is best for the boat to
travel in a forward direction. That is why the drogue is
attached to the stern of a boat.
Drogues catch a lot less water than sea anchors do.

Good Paddling or Anchoring,
Don Dimond

I've searched the net and have found little reference to them or their sea
anchor, mostly references by Ralph in the archives. Who sells them? I had
assumed I was going to have to look into a regular one for small smaller
sailboats (<20ft).
