As someone who has gotten physically ill while paddling a Nordkapp HM I can definitely vouch for it happening. Both times were during the Blackburn challenge race. Quartering seas, from the stern, while I'm paddling hard seem to be the biggest problem. After cleansing my innards I had no problems paddling into a stiff breeze and 1+ foot waves. I was using ginger tablets the second time, they definitely didn't help me. An empty stomach definitely makes matters worse. To add to the confusion, I've never gotten seasick in a canoe. Just in a sea kayak. I own a pair of the wrist thingies, I haven't tried them in a situation where I think I might get seasick. kirk *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.gasp-seakayak.net/paddlewise/ ***************************************************************************Received on Fri Apr 09 1999 - 07:55:46 PDT
