I saw this item on E-bay http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=91026047 and thought I'd pass it along for those of us who are looking for something to protect our cameras while kayaking. No, I'm not the seller, I just thought it was interesting. It's a Gore-Tex or similar fabric cover for the camera to protect it from rain, spray, etc. It will not protect your camera if you drop it overboard or have to roll while it's out. So while not a replacement for an Ikelite or Ewa-Marine type housing, it seems to be a fairly inexpensive alternative to provide basic protection from the elements. He's selling 50 of them using a "Dutch bidding" system, which means that the price won't go up until at least 50 people have bid on them. The last time this guy was selling them he only sold 2 of 50, so it shouldn't be a problem. I don't own one, nor have I decided yet whether I'm going to get one (although I probably will as I live near Seattle and could use some kind of rain protection for my cameras even when I'm not kayking!), as I said, I just thought it was an interesting item. Sorry if anyone thinks this is an inappropriate post.
