[Paddlewise] Delmarva Peninsula Paddling Spots?

Hello all -

I may be spending several days on the Delmarva Peninsula in 
early May, and am wondering if anyone has any favorite 
paddling spots to share?  (Or to avoid?!)   Or paddling - swamp 
- birding - wildlife spots.

I've never been to Trap Pond State Park (the cypress swamp in 
Delaware) and was wondering if it's worth the trip.  Or the  
Blackwater Wildlife Refuge?  Good for birding?  How buggy is 
it likely to be the first few days of May?  

Thoughts on Chincoteague?  I visited there once or twice, 
many years ago, and seem to recall some water -- anyone 
paddled there?
