I have had a Lendal crankshaft carbon shaft/carbon bladed paddle for 3 years. I paddle in summer and in winter (air temps as low as 20F, water temps as low as 32.5 F). I have bashed it, unwittingly, quite hard on submerged rocks and dropped it on the cement driveway a few times. I have also used it to pry myself off rocks several times too. It has a few dings on the blades but that is all the damage that I have noticed.
