Bill, Despite its weight I am still interested in trying a British heavy; in particular, the Romany 18. My primary criterion is ease of handling in following seas, i.e., I don't care about maneuverability and quick turns, but want to cruise down wind with minimum corrective strokes and leans. Secondly, neutrality in beam and quartering winds. To achieve this I believe either a skeg, sliding seat or rudder is essential. I have heard that the skeg mechanism on the Romany is not that great. What do you think of you Romany in these regards?
