Well Ralph, we little people need less water.

Perhaps it's the Bushman in me, but I hike 10 miles and 2000 feet
elevation gain in warm weather with 16 oz of water with no noticeable
diminution of vigor (nobody complains about my pace) and bring some
of
it back (water and vigor). I have Halzone in case I have to make an
   unplanned bivouac.

Same with paddling; drink v. little and nobody has to wait for me. I
used to cruise timber in Florida swamps in the summer (90+ F. and 95%
humidity) and kick everbody's butt. Water at the truck ever 2-4
hours.
Just not a big drinker. I guess my ancestors were used to long hauls
   between water holes.
