Thanks to all the folks who gave me suggestions for paddling in North Carolina. I decided to fly out and stick to teaching my technical short course for this April. However I have yet another scheme to get someone to pay my way to the East Coast! I will be spending an exciting summer filling out forms (Hazardous Waste Manifests - " Manifest Destiny " and watching people put toxic paint into drums! That's the bad news. The good news is that I will be doing it from mid-May to September along the coast of Maine just south of the US/Canada border near Machiasport. Any one on the list from that part of country? If there is anyone that could join me for weekend paddles or give me some local information about NE Maine that would be great. So far all I know is that the Atlas has " Largest Whirpool In The Western Hemisphere" marked near there.
