Maybe it's: Illusory and Delusory Parasitosis http://www.ianr.unl.edu/ianr/lanco/enviro/pest/factsheets/PRSTOSIS.HTML But it could be: Biting Midges of Coastal Florida http://hammock.ifas.ufl.edu/txt/fairs/MG102 Anyone using this? http://www.tmvc.com.au/info12.html or that? http://www.execpc.com/bugout/ =========================== Me? i didn't do night paddling on coastal tidal rivers of the Chesapeake bay for years because i expected to be eaten alive... tried it a few years ago and was pleasently supprised all summer long... our group had weekly evening paddles and never had a problem with biting insects...go figure? Gnats will get to any part that isn't covered by clothing sprayed with it and you can not use it on skin. The bug veil does not work as well as another brand ( don't know the name) that has a 1/4 inch mesh between you and the screen, this keeps the screen from contacting your skin and the little buggers being able to bite you thru it. Grrrrrrrr. I can't remember the name of the mesh product either. I can find out if anyone wants to know. Many hunters in Florida are using this stuff. Its a mesh, UNDER the screen. Comes in squeeter and noseeum screen. Noseeum screen is smaller the squeeter which might make it a bit hotter. As you said, the mesh keeps the bugs from biting you since it keeps the screen off of your skin. The product has gloves, shirts and trousers. The shirt has a built in hood. I'm hoping to get a set for my birthday. My father has a set and swears by it. One of its advantages is that you can wear shorts and t-shirts under this stuff so you are not as hot. And you obviously don't have to lather on the chemicals. I've been in places in Florida where the squeeters where so bad that most bug spray just did not work. The stuff that did would only work for an hour or so and you had to reapply. BTW, the stuff that did work was left over from a construction site at Turkey Point. The Nuke Plant just south of Miami...... I don't know if it was the DEET percentange or something else.... We did NOT glow in the dark as far as we could tell! 8-) Hope this helps.... We've got a product called Shannon's Bug Tamer... jacket with hood, made of bug netting with "liner" (like a fish net) to keep the netting off the skin. Works real well. dmccarty_at_us.ibm.com wrote: > > |The bug veil does not work as well as another brand ( don't know the name) > |that has a 1/4 inch mesh between you and the screen, this keeps the > screen > |from contacting your skin and the little buggers being able to bite you > |thru it. > Grrrrrrrr.
