I also use a Thermarest stadium type seat in my boats. It is about a 1 1/2 in. thick and varies to how much pressure you want. I velcroed (soft side) onto the seats of my boats, and the scratchy side on the pad. This works especially well on longer White water trips when I am using my Overflow. Now my butt doesn't fall asleep and neither do the back muscles of my legs when I am really in tight. === If I have ever learned anything - It's that you can't "teach" people anything, you can only point them in the direction of truth and let them find it themselves. Phil's use of the Thermarest pad is a good one. I also used one, but inappropriately. Mine was flat against the inside of the hull in my Pygmy Osprey Std. That did not work out for me. I had major butt soreness and muscle soreness in the muscles of my legs. I replaced it with a carved minicell foam seat custom tailored to my tush and the lower surface of my upper thighs. Now I am comfy all day. I'm convinced that supporting the upper part of my legs is vital for my comfort in a cockpit. -- Dave Kruger Astoria, OR *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.gasp-seakayak.net/paddlewise/ ***************************************************************************
