I guess my truck is nearing middle age with lots of scratches from loading
the sea kayak by myself. I've maintained it well but am cultivating a good
slimy coat of grease and grime on the outside. I'll be doing some extended
traveling, camping, touring shortly and the black beast will be left by
itself quite a bit. The hope is no self-respecting crook would want to
dirty their hands for the slim pickings such a vehicle would likely yield.

My boat trailer emerged from the snow with a fair pile of gravel in it
(that pesky neighbor of mine used it as a snow dump when clearing our
gravel drive). Before tossing my short ww boat in it, it thought I ought
to hose it out to avoid harming the boat's hull. Off I went to the coin-op
wand wash. One I finished the trailer, I noticed that my SUV was already
half clean, so I finished the job. Unfortunately, the spray took off the
antenna and one of the runningboards, and buggered up the starter contacts.
A curse on all those who shovel drives, wash vehicles, cut lawns, and
otherwise uphold the tenants of non-paddling society.

Cheers,
Richard Culpeper

That, by any chance, the truck of the missing keys, Clyde? Must
be a lot of new PaddleWisers who probably ought to hear that
story! Even some of us who remember it would like to hear it
again. On the archives anywhere?
