During previous discussions on emergency situations, several people mentioned they didn't feel emergency gear had real value (my words) unless they were attached to their person. At the time, and since, it occurred to me that if I subscribed to that theory I would want some sort of backpack, something that would contain some real emergency gear, hang off the back of the pfd, out of the way, maybe rest down on the aft deck.
