The Led flashlight works great! I bring 2 with me. An amber to use around the campsite (absolutely invisible to bugs and doesn't trash your night vision) and a white one to use for reading in the tent and as a beacon for night paddling. Others on the list have made their own lights and seem to have had great success. My experiment using an IC to pulse the LEDs to increase intensity has had mixed results. cu -----Original Message----- From: owner-paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net [mailto:owner-paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net] On Behalf Of Chuck Holst Sent: Monday, April 26, 1999 1:29 PM To: 'Paddlewise' Subject: [Paddlewise] FW: Small Tent: REI Nitelit -----Original Message----- From: Bob Denton [mailto:BDenton_at_aquagulf.com] Sent: Monday, April 26, 1999 8:16 AM To: Paddlewise E-mail Subject: [Paddlewise] Small Tent: REI Nitelite >> I was out of Flamingo in the Everglades this weekend with my new Nitelite. I built a mockup of the thing, twisted wires, open bulb and such on the first saturday of february. The damn thing is still glowing and I want to butcher it for pieces to make a more refined system. I won't until it finally burns out and it seems I will never have a flashlight. I used 2 AA rayovacs with a red 14,000 bulb according to Bob's specs. for the past week it would have neglible use as a flashlight as it is but a glow but it had a high output til then. the replacement white bulbs and container are waiting... -- gabriel l romeu http://studiofurniture.com furniture, designed and constructed http://members.aol.com/romeugp paintings, photos, prints, etc. http://members.xoom.com/gabrielR a daily photo journal *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.gasp-seakayak.net/paddlewise/ ***************************************************************************
