I'm about to purchase a compass for my kayak (a Dagger Edisto Expedition), and I'd like some recommendations. I'm considering both permanently-mounted units and those that strap on via bungies. Comments on both sorts (pros and cons) appreciated. I figure I will only have the compass on the boat rarely, and most of the time, when I'm on familiar local waters, it's something else to risk busting or losing. So, for the routine after-work exercise paddles, it can just stay in the gear box. Of course, that's me -- your mileage may vary. -- Wes *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.gasp-seakayak.net/paddlewise/ ***************************************************************************
