I read an entry yesterday listing the NOAA site as having free charts that are suitable for kayak navigation. I looked at different pages in the NOAA site and did not find anything. Can the author of that thread or anyone else please elaborate on where these charts are or any other sites that may have servicable charts for downloading or copying. Specifically, I am looking for charts for Sonoma Coast, Tomalles Bay region. I have not yet found a book of charts that I can purchase of this area. (West Marine in Sausalito did not have anything but huge single charts. don't want the big charts, they seem too big to be manageable in a kayak. (There isn't much of a nav. station on my kayak deck!) What product do other sea kayakers in this region use? If you're looking for charts in Sausalito, go to Armchair Sailor Bookstore, 42 Caledonia St. I'm from Orange County and even I know that. :-) Actually, I was just up paddling those areas and happened to find that great resource after going to the movie. I know they have the Yachtsman Chart Book for Northern California because I bought one there.
