My apologies for not remembering the original poster for the site below. http://www.uscharts.com/ I ordered a few of the free charts and thought I would pass along what I learned. The charts (mostly of Florida, but a couple that cover the Potomac and Chesapeake Bay) are printed on heavy newsprint (even folded like a Sunday ad paper). A little hard to read the finer detail, and appear to be reprints of NOAA charts. The blank areas of the newsprint are covered with local ads. Scale ranged from 1:20,000 (Washington area of the Potomac) to 1:80,000 (lower Potomac). Worth the 3 bucks I paid for shipping I guess, but not much more. These "free" charts are giveaways in many of the marine shops in Florida. They are printed with advertising and are throwaways.
